She does go to school

Our plan was not for Sis to go to preschool this past year. Every school we looked at that we even liked was more than we wanted to spend and was just not right for her. So I was planning on Pinteresting some school shiz for her and doing a little bit myself, just so the kid could start learning - something.

Oh, am I glad that did not work out.

Curtis ended up finding a friend from high school that taught preschool from her home but she had a long wait list. So we figured Sis would go next year and fine. Ended up that a spot opened up last minute becuz several of the kids weren't potty trained or something like that and voila - Sis won the preschool lottery.

Ms. Donna has been the most amazing teacher for this girl - she is wonderfully patient and kind and is a phenomenal teacher. Laurel just went 2 days a week for 2.5 hours, which was so perfect for her - and nice for me.

They had a teddy bear picnic and a Halloween parade, a Thanksgiving feast and show and tell, and just a jillion other wonderful things. Just such a great experience for her. We were so fortunate to have this opportunity and she is already enrolled for next year. Yay!

My little cowgirl

First day of school! I was way more apprehensive than she was. She wasn't into being around anyone but me, Curtis and my mom. Thankfully Ms. Donna had done a little open house so the kids could come and see where they would be learning and playing and for us to meet her. Made a huge diff and I felt so much better about dropping her - and she was totally fine!

They went on a field trip to a fire station. Laurel was seriously impatient when I started taking pictures - full on did the "Mo-om!" What the what!? She also said she wants to be a "fighterfighter" when she gets big but only if she can drive. This girl is something else.

They did all manner of fun little activities. She just loved it so much.

Thrilled she is going back!
