Idyllic living - Summer fun

Cal's 2 goals for summer were for us to go to California to visit cousins and to go to Utah to visit Curtis' college friend Dan and his family up in Utah. Since we had knocked out the CA visit in June when my nephew graduated from high school, our only trip to tick off his list was to Utah. So in late July, we headed up there to Central Valley.

We first went to visit this delightful family back in December and had such a wonderful time that we were looking forward to going back this year.

The kids just love it - Cal got to ride an ATV, their family is just wonderful and fun, we went to their Pioneer Day parade where they shut down Main Street, the fireworks show and live music up by the hippie commune, the kids got to play with and feed goats and we got to eat fresh snap peas from the garden.

We took a little jaunt up to Fish Lake, which was really lovely. There's just something about being able to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and all its demands and just enjoy life.

Cal was so thrilled to be able to play with the goats and both kids loved being able to run around outside and just be little kids with no commitments to honor.

Life doesn't get any better than this.
